Aftermath

Gazing out the window,
Door's tightly shut,
Master beseeches open,
Learn a lil more trust,
Take a chance on this one,
Slowly I opened the door,
Just a crack at first,
Peering out at a lost girl,
Standing trembling ready to flee,
Pulling the door open wider,
Offering the refuge she'd need,
Growing to know and care,
Begining to love and cherish,
Holding her close to my heart,
Though thousands of miles lie between,
To come to us she said was her dream,
Professing her love for us both,
Then silence from her,
As cold and dark as the grave,
Was she alive or dead,
What was wrong, could she not connect,
Had she fled, run and why would she,
Had she disapeared never to hear from her again,
Rivers of tears flowed from my eyes,
Worry, longing, loss thier cause,
Then mail from her, she had ran and hid,
Feeling she was not good enough to stay,
Begged her to return, she stayed a second and flew,
Anger that she failed herself, directed Masters way,
What she felt I can not say,
For myself I mourn the girl I thought I knew,
Where what I found in the end was all a lie,
The pain I hold is real, wounds will mend in time,
Scars are forever, deep ones have names,
This one I took as sister, will ever mar my heart, Now trust and caring and love,
Gaurded, shealtered, protected from more pain,
New Walls are errected, will they in time come down,
Or has this scar erradicated that which made me share,
Will the pain leave me or make me bitter and bare,
