Fear

Damp dark icy fingers,
Slowly creep up my spin,
Chilling to the bone.
Heart beating wild,
Breath in short hard gasp,
Feet frozen wanting to fly.

Swirling masses,
Gray to black enfold,
Smothering, isolated.

Shivering alone and lost,
Bitter tears well up, flow free,
Drowning in fear and desperation.

Timid soft butterfly light,
Caresses wiping the tears away,
Fluttering softly against my cheek.

Soft sweet scented warmth,
Hues of gold and red,
From twin suns warm my soul.

Holding, protecting me,
Guiding and teaching,
Chasing the fear and desperation away.
