The Greatest Gift

One gave me gold,
My favors he thought to win.
Another Diamonds with fire
To match my eyes claimed he.
Yet One more presented rubies
To compliment my lips was his tale.
Emeralds to contrast my locks,
From yet another.
Roses of red and white
The fragrance sheer delight.
Words which bloomed in my ears,
As flowers in an open field was gifted by yet another.
All of these I laid at your feet,
with other teasures that were mine alone to give.
My soul lays bare to your inspection,
I prey You find it not lacking.
My heart beating wildly just for you
Strong and true but fragile too.
Off to the side in plain pine box
Unadorned, and almost overlooked,
A gift so rare and so sweet
I gave to you my free will.
